The Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) has announced the list of 2016 WGEA Employer of Choice for Gender Equality (EOCGE) citation holders. MinterEllison is delighted to be one of 106 organisations to again receive this recognition.
The citation recognises organisations that have demonstrated an active commitment to gender equality in their workplace with a focus on removing the structural and cultural barriers that prevent the full participation of women at work.
Chief Executive, Tony Harrington AM, said the citation is an important endorsement of MinterEllison's continuing efforts to create an inclusive, high performance culture that leverages the diversity of our people to create a distinctive client experience.
"Diversity and inclusiveness are at the core of our values. It is about who we are and how we work – with our clients and with each other.
"By building an inclusive, high performance workplace we empower our people to bring their whole selves to work, be at their best, and work to their strengths to create a distinctive experience for our clients. By leveraging the unique contributions of our people, we bring our behaviours to life – to collaborate effectively with each other, innovate the very best outcomes and solutions, and inspire our clients and ourselves.
“We’re proud of our progress. Every year since 2013 for example, we have increased the number of women promoted to senior roles. I’m pleased that this financial year almost 60% of our senior appointments were women,” Mr Harrington said.
The firm’s most notable shifts in gender composition across senior leadership roles involve the Talent Council (where 64% of new appointments were female), and the Partner Selection Committee (where 36% of new appointments were female).
