MinterEllison announces the appointment of Ruth Stringer as partner to lead its national Superannuation practice.

MinterEllison welcomes back to the firm leading financial services and superannuation lawyer Ruth Stringer as a partner in the Capital Solutions practice.
Ruth will again lead the firm's national Superannuation practice, which she established some years ago. She will provide expertise and advice to clients as they look ahead and respond to legislative change and current and future member needs.

"We are thrilled to have Ruth return to the firm. There are few practitioners with Ruth's depth of expertise, diversity of experience, leadership track record, and breadth of industry knowledge," said Jeremy Blackshaw, Managing Partner Capital Markets and Corporate. "She returns to a practice she successfully established and built to lead and support our clients and a talented team."

"The industry and peers highly respect Ruth and know her as a market leading financial services lawyer with particular expertise in superannuation, funds management, life insurance and financial services."

"Few have her range of expertise across the sector, including advising on M&A transactions, regulatory and disclosure issues, regulatory reform, financial advice, governance, investments, disputes, regulatory investigations, in-sourcing and outsourcing."

The Superannuation practice is part of the market-leading Investment Funds team at MinterEllison, which is consistently rated highly by Chambers Asia-Pacific.

"I am excited to return to MinterEllison and re-join the firm’s highly respected financial services practice. My main focus will be to lead and continue to develop the firm’s market leading superannuation capability“ said Ruth.

"The superannuation sector is dynamic and I look forward to supporting clients as they navigate the ever changing regulatory landscape.

"It is a busy time for the sector, with areas of focus including ESG, regulatory reform, development of retirement income products and strategies and investment in technology and data capability.

"The Superannuation team can draw upon the full capability of the firm to harness a wide range of specialist skills to address these and other issues facing industry participants.

Ruth joins the 16 new partners appointed in July 2022, bringing the total number of partner appointments in FY2022-23 to 17 partners.
