Royal Commission: Aged Care Quality and Safety

As the Aged Care Royal Commission concludes its work, the sector is confronted with the unique opportunity to review, rethink and rebuild.

The aged care sector is undergoing transformational change - a rapidly ageing population, changing consumer expectations, the 'dementia epidemic' and a preference for care at home. Against this backdrop is a sector that is grappling with the most sizeable decline in financial performance in over five years.

With a spotlight firmly on this sector, addressing the challenges and opportunities presented by the Royal Commission is essential to ensuring the sector can support the needs of ageing Australians into the future.

The Royal Commission's Final Report represents a new beginning. It's an opportunity for the sector to take stock - reflect on the lessons learned, to access better support and resourcing and to rebuild its services and reputation to meet the community's needs.

Now is the time for renewal and regeneration as we sow the seeds for a strong and sustainable future.
