Lee Rossetto has a diverse property and government law practice with a focus on major projects and development.

He acts for government, university and private clients and draws on significant experience to advise on the full spectrum of property, infrastructure and resource projects. This work is underpinned by Lee's extensive experience in drafting and negotiating contracts, advising clients on competitive procurement and probity issues and his exceptional project management skills. He also offers clients an advanced understanding of the political, public sector and administrative environments in which they operate.

Lee is known for his commercial and pragmatic approach. He has particular market expertise in complex large scale urban renewal, land and housing development and infrastructure projects, public private partnerships (PPPs) affordable housing and contaminated sites, as well as land tenure, statutory interpretation, policy and strategic advice.

Lee has worked on many of Western Australia's landmark property developments and strategic transactions. Lee currently has a lead role on the iconic Perth City Link Project.

Other relevant general experience includes advising various public and private sector clients on:

  • land access and approvals
  • land tenure alternatives for infrastructure that traverses both Crown land and freehold land
  • land acquisition and injurious affection

Lee also provides liaison and project management assistance to clients on major projects involving numerous Commonwealth, State and Local Government stakeholders.

Lee works with leading clients including Australand, Cockburn Cement Ltd, Edith Cowan University, the Housing Authority, LandCorp, the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority, The University of Western Australia.

Ord East Kimberley Expansion Project

Advising the State on all land tenure aspects of the Ord East Kimberley Expansion Project; developing, drafting and negotiating with Chinese proponent and Aboriginal Corporation the underlying land tenure model, including relevant aspects of Development Agreement and a suite of bespoke leases, licences and easements and other instruments; negotiating land access and use arrangements with mining tenement holders to manage overlap of inconsistent land uses.

Perth City Link Project

Advising the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority on all aspects of the Perth City Link Project, including drafting and negotiating the project deed for the development of the precinct, drafting and negotiating a suite of easements and covenants to manage the interface between the proposed above ground development and the underground public transport infrastructure.

Urban renewal of metropolitan precincts

Acted for Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority on the urban renewal of metropolitan precincts. Our role involved advising Western Australia's leading urban redevelopment authority on three key redevelopment projects in the Perth metropolitan area.
